DSPM was founded by 25 elite citizens of Dombivli, including Shri Prabhakar Desai, Dr. U. Prabhakar Rao, and Dr. V.S. Upasani. The idea was sparked by a tragic train accident and the lack of higher education in the area. It was registered under the Public Charitable Trust Act.
